In 2013 I took a trip to my homeland Sierra Leone with my mother, grandmother, and younger sister. I was very hesitant going at first because of the stories some of my family members told me, but without a say I soon would find myself on a flight heading out of the US to Brussels. So I'm kinda a shopaholic and when my mother offered me to have a spree before we go, BELIEVE me when I say I went to every store trying to get everything forgetting not everything can fit into my suitcase, but I didn't care. So when I got there I didn't want to open up to everyone, not yet at least, it took a week and a half to really start to get acquainted with my family. And, well, they showed me the Africa you don't see on T.V. and I fell in love with it. So when they gave me a piece of them, I gave them a piece of me by giving away some of my clothes, and when I was doing that it felt so good, giving them advice on where to wear the clothes too and how to wear it just felt so good and I knew, from that moment, I found my passion and what I want to spend my life doing. Styling and designing clothes. Using what I know and love about fashion to help those around me and share my culture with world.
